Monitor Audio has announced a number of promotions and appointments within its sales and marketing departments to support the introduction of the latest Gold and Bronze series models worldwide whilst also preparing the way for significant product announcements expected this year.

The first announcement is that Alex Emson has been named director of global sales and marketing after serving as part of the manufacturer’s international sales operation for over eight years

Alex has a degree in Music and Technology and previously held a post-graduate music post at the University of Cambridge.

“Alex’s experience, skill-set and love of music will be a huge asset to Monitor Audio as he gears our sales and marketing operation for ever-better communication with our growing customer base,” said Monitor Audio in a statement.

Meanwhile, UK sales manager Joseph Boyd has been promoted to head of UK sales.

“Jo’s product knowledge and dedication to the brand have contributed enormously to our growth during his 12 years in Monitor Audio sales,” says Monitor Audio. “Having explored his love of music as a sound engineer, Joseph feels privileged to be working in an industry dedicated to preserving the integrity of the original recording.”

Along with the new appointment announcements, the manufacturer also revealed that after spending 15 years with Monitor Audio, international sales director, David Hobbs is retiring from this role.

David set-up the manufacture’s German sales network, which he will continue to run with his wife Anja.

“In his time with us David has grown our distributor network from 21 to 74 countries and has overseen a sales revenue growth in these territories of nearly 400%. His dedication has comprehensively boosted the growth of the brand outside the UK.”

“Our ceaseless drive for excellence will gain a new impetus with the promotions and appointments to our sales and marketing team,” says managing director Andrew Flatt.

“I believe that we now have the most talented, dedicated and experienced team in the industry and that their passion for our products will really help us to grow the Monitor Audio brand.”
