Monitor Audio has launched the Creator Series In-Wall Subwoofers and Amplification. Designed for seamless integration within walls, the three-model range delivers room-filling bass with clarity and control, bringing high-fidelity low-frequency performance without compromising interior design.
Engineered to fit within standard 4-inch stud wall depths across the entire range, Creator Series In-Wall Subwoofers offer installation flexibility.
Each subwoofer, offered across three performance tiers, is engineered with its own bespoke rear enclosure and precisely matched to Creator Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 in-wall and in-ceiling speakers.
The Tier 1 (WS1-W10) and Tier 2 (WS2-W12) subwoofers are driven by the all-new IA500-S Amplifier, while Tier 3 (WS3-W12) is paired with the IA750-2 Installation Amplifier.
At the heart of Creator Series In-Wall Subwoofers & Amplification are a range of engineering choices, each developed to deliver controlled, high-fidelity bass however discreet the installation.
The WS2-W12 and WS3-W12 feature a low-profile, high-excursion 12-inch C-CAM driver with advanced RST II cone geometry, which helps control cone break-up and optimise dispersion for cleaner, more consistent bass, combined with a high-powered motor system to deliver fast, precise, pistonic low frequencies.
The WS1-W10 combines a 10-inch C-CAM driver with the same commitment to deep, articulate bass in a more compact, flexible package.
Each subwoofer is paired with a dedicated rear enclosure engineered specifically around its driver and acoustic requirements. The WS2-W12 features carefully positioned integral partitions that not only reduce standing waves but are precisely tuned to optimise internal airflow and ensure the enclosure operates at the required performance.
The WS3-W12 takes this further, combining metal, wood and sophisticated internal bracing to maximise usable internal air volume, minimise unwanted vibration and extend low-frequency performance.
Every Creator Series In-Wall Subwoofer is driven by its own tuned amplifier. The IA500-S delivers 250 watts of Class-D power to a single WS1-W10 and 500 watts to a WS2-W12.
Alternatively, two WS1-W10 subwoofers can be connected to the IA500-S using its dual speaker outputs, delivering 500 watts across the pair. With three preset EQ modes (Impact, Movie and Music), the IA500-S enables fast, confident tuning on site.
The WS3-W12 is designed to integrate seamlessly with Monitor Audio’s Installation Amplifier range. An IA750-2 amplifier channel is capable of driving one WS3-W12, providing installers with flexibility when designing distributed audio and home cinema systems.
A low-profile magnetic grille sits flush to the wall across the entire range, ensuring a seamless, discreet finish whichever tier is specified.
The WS3-W12 is fitted with gold-plated, spring-loaded terminals, providing secure, reliable and convenient cable connections for long-term performance. The WS1-W10 and WS2-W12 feature integrated cable grommets at each end of the enclosure for simple and discreet cable routing during installation.
The WS1-W10 uses Monitor Audio’s Tri-Grip II dog-leg fixing system, together with supplied isolation brackets, to ensure a secure and reliable installation. For WS2-W12 and WS3-W12, the driver mounts directly into the dedicated enclosure, providing a robust and straightforward installation method.
From the outset of development, all three Creator Series In-Wall Subwoofers were engineered to fit within standard 4-inch stud wall depths, providing greater installation flexibility without compromising acoustic performance.
While competing high-performance in-wall subwoofers require deeper 6-inch stud walls, Monitor Audio’s design approach allows installers to specify powerful, high-fidelity bass in a wider range of residential and commercial projects.
