Prove your humanity

Apple Music subscribers will be able to beam tunes through their Sonos speakers in time for Christmas, as beta support for the music streaming service launches on December 15.

Sonos support has been a must-have for many music fans considering the switch to Apple Music, with many citing it as their main reason for not adopting the streaming service over rivals such as Tidal, Spotify or Deezer.

Both Sonos and Apple had promised that support was coming in the future, but until now, a firm date was not set for that support.

While Sonos systems will now be able to play songs from Apple Music’s vast catalogue, there may be glitches and other problems during the beta period. Sonos is giving users the ability to provide feedback if they experience any issues while streaming their music to the multi-room system.

Apple is still offering a free three month trial to anyone who wants to try out Apple Music but are not quite convinced that it is worth parting cash for.

Sonos owners wanting to participate in the Apple Music beta will have to activate it in the Sonos App by navigating to Settings > Advanced Settings > Beta Program > Join The Beta Program.

After joining the beta program, users will begin receiving an update to their Sonos App on December 15.
