Crestron Electronics has announced a landmark new partnership with FC Barcelona, becoming the Official Smart Hospitality Systems Partner of the ambitious Espai Barça transformation project.
The collaboration places Crestron at the heart of one of the world’s most significant stadium redevelopments, helping redefine the iconic Spotify Camp Nou into a next-generation destination designed to operate 365 days a year.
Espai Barça represents the club’s bold vision to modernise and expand Spotify Camp Nou and the surrounding campus, transforming the venue into a connected hub for sport, hospitality, business and community engagement. As part of the multi-year partnership, Crestron will provide the integrated technology infrastructure underpinning the development, delivering advanced content distribution, collaboration and control solutions throughout the stadium.
Brad Hintze, EVP of Global Customer Success & Marketing at Crestron, explains, “Espai Barça is about building what the modern venue should be. Going beyond the match days of each season, this new venue is primed to be active and lively all 365 days of the year. Crestron is powering the infrastructure behind it by enabling every space to adapt instantly, operate seamlessly and deliver consistent experiences at massive scale.”

Originally designed for another era, Spotify Camp Nou is being transformed into a highly flexible and connected environment capable of supporting a huge variety of uses beyond football. Crestron technology will be integrated throughout the venue, including hospitality suites, VIP areas, locker rooms, press facilities, operational spaces and meeting environments.
At the core of the deployment is a unified platform for content, collaboration and control, allowing spaces to be reconfigured instantly for different events and operational needs. Whether hosting a match day experience, a corporate gathering or a hospitality function, the venue will deliver a seamless and consistent user experience across hundreds of spaces.
The result is a venue designed to function more like a sophisticated digital ecosystem than a traditional stadium, where each environment can be adapted quickly to support new experiences and commercial opportunities for the city of Barcelona.
Marc Bruix, Global Partnerships Director at FC Barcelona, says, “Crestron’s arrival as Official Smart Hospitality Systems Partner is another important step in our ambition to make Espai Barça a global benchmark for innovation, connectivity and premium hospitality. Through this partnership, Spotify Camp Nou will become a smarter, more flexible and multifunctional venue, capable of delivering seamless and world-class experiences for fans, partners and visitors every single day of the year.”

With capacity for more than 100,000 fans, Spotify Camp Nou represents one of the most technologically complex sporting environments in the world. In addition to supporting live events, the venue must also accommodate extensive hospitality, operational and media functions, all while maintaining a consistent and intuitive experience for users.
Crestron says its role extends beyond simply connecting systems together. Instead, the company is focused on standardising how each space operates, enabling staff to move easily between environments while reducing operational friction and simplifying management across the venue.
The project also highlights a broader shift in how large-scale venues are being designed and managed. Rather than relying on fragmented systems, Espai Barça is built around a unified digital infrastructure that supports long-term scalability, flexibility and adaptability.
According to Crestron, the same principles being applied at Spotify Camp Nou can also benefit enterprise campuses, hospitality environments and public infrastructure projects where organisations require consistent experiences across complex, multi-purpose spaces.
Brad adds, “Projects like Espai Barça represent the next chapter for large-scale venues and where the industry is heading. Organisations are no longer building spaces for a single purpose, but for continuous use that can power countless moments. Our role is to provide the infrastructure that makes those environments adaptable, scalable and simple to operate, no matter the size or complexity.”
