Alex Tagliani is not just a famous championship racing driver known for competing in the Indianapolis 500 and other races, he is also crazy about home technology. It’s one of the reasons Alex was roaming the aisles of the CEDIA Expo 2015 in Dallas last month with his custom integrator looking at various pieces of equipment for his new smart home that is just beginning construction.
Alex, along with his famous fashion model wife Bronte Tagliani, have agreed to share their experiences exclusively with CE Pro in a series of video blogs as they race to get their dream home built just outside Montreal. Groundbreaking is due to take place this month.
The plans for the modern-style home, designed by Evolution Architecture, include a multipurpose home theatre room that will feature Alex’s racing suits encased in clear plexiglass as a personal touch.
Alex is no stranger to the industry. His Indy car is already sponsored by fellow Canadians B&W Group.
He spent time with CE Pro at the show and he is working closely with his two integrators – Greg Simmons of CE Pro 100 company Eagle Sentry in Las Vegas and Joseph Kade of Homesync in Montreal – to outfit the home with the best equipment for the job.
So far, he has selected various equipment from Epson, Integra, Audioquest, Screen Innovations, Bowers & Wilkins and iRoom Inc. for the project.
Many CE Pro readers might recall the ups and downs of the $20M Project profiled back in 2012-2013. Alex hopes his project is not a bumpy ride.
