SVS launches 3000 Micro R|Evolution Sub

SVS launches new compact subwoofer benchmark with 3000 Micro R|Evolution.

Bass remains one of the most challenging aspects of any AV or home cinema installation to get right, yet it is also one of the most critical to overall system performance. From room interaction to placement constraints, low-frequency reproduction can make or break the experience. Against this backdrop, new solutions from established specialists such as SVS carry particular weight, offering integrators and end users alike fresh tools to tackle a notoriously complex area.

Distributed in the UK by Karma AV, the new 3000 Micro R|Evolution is introduced as a high-performance solution designed to deliver deep, controlled bass from a compact form factor. The product makes its debut at this year’s AXPONA show and joins the brand’s established range of subwoofers and loudspeakers.

Housed in an 11in sealed cabinet, the 3000 Micro R|Evolution features dual-opposing, force-balanced active 9in drivers, powered by a 1,200W continuous (4,000W+ peak) MOSFET amplifier. The design also incorporates a 295MHz DSP engine, which the company says is the most advanced it has deployed in a home subwoofer to date.

The concept behind the design is to overcome the traditional compromises of compact subwoofers, which can often prioritise size over performance. By using dual, side-firing drivers operating in opposite directions, the system cancels out mechanical forces, significantly reducing cabinet vibration and improving overall accuracy.

SVS avoids the use of passive radiators in this design, instead opting for active drivers to maintain tighter, more controlled bass performance. The result is extension down to 20Hz, combined with what the company describes as precise tonal accuracy suited to both music and home cinema applications.

Powering the system is a proprietary R|Evolution amplifier, combining Class D efficiency with discrete MOSFET output stages. A digitally monitored switch mode power supply maintains a consistent 160V rail voltage, while 56-bit processing and high-performance DACs are employed to minimise distortion and maximise headroom.

At the core of the system is the 295MHz Analog Devices DSP, which manages performance, tuning and system protection. The DSP continuously monitors amplifier behaviour and power delivery, helping to ensure consistent output under varying conditions.

Control and calibration are handled via the SVS Subwoofer Control app, allowing users to adjust volume, crossover settings, phase, polarity and room gain. The app also provides up to six parametric EQ bands and three memory presets for quick system changes. An Auto Room EQ feature is expected to be introduced as a software update in Q2 2026.

The cabinet itself is constructed from thick MDF with internal bracing to maintain rigidity, and is available in piano gloss black or white finishes. Connectivity includes both balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs for flexible system integration.

The SVS 3000 Micro R|Evolution is expected to be available in the UK from May 2026, with a typical retail price of £1,149 including VAT.
