Those wishing to control their heating using voice control have yet another option available to them, as tado° has officially launched its skill for Google Home.

While the tado° skill was announced at the launch of the Google Home in the UK, the company has been hard at work making it live. Now that it is available, users can now ask the Google Assistant to lower or raise the temperature, something Alexa users have been able to do since September 2016.

“We are thrilled to join the Google Assistant platform,” notes tado° CEO, Toon Bouten. “Assimilating Google’s technology to our portfolio helps us pioneer the development of voice control for a more comfortable and convenient home experience.”

Google Assistant may be the latest addition for the tado° team, but it’s not the first. That’s because the team has already made its smart thermostat and AC controls compatible with both Alexa and Apple’s HomeKit. Making it one of the most versatile smart climate control systems on the market.

Using tado° with Google Assistant can be achieved by simply asking a compatible device ‘OK Google, set living room to 22°C’, or ‘OK Google, increase bedroom temperature by 3°C’.

The Google Assistant is gradually growing its list of compatible devices and services; Lutron recently added its high-end lighting solution to the array of devices which can be controlled by the Google Home, while Deezer can also now be streamed from the smart speaker.
