Major technology distributor, Exertis is leaning on the Amazon Echo and its Alexa voice assistant, as well as other smart home ecosystems to help it sell its smart tech products.
Rod Slater, Exertis, head of Smart Tech and IoT notes: “A range of Smart Tech devices that can be controlled by your voice is far easier than using a number of different Apps on your smartphone. Exertis has the largest range of Smart Tech products that work with Amazon Alexa devices including leading brands like Nest, Hive, Yale, Philips Hue and Honeywell. Voice control will be an added incentive for consumers to invest in this market and consequently create growth opportunities for our customers.”
Exertis has categorised its Smart Tech range into four main product pillars: comfort, security, convenience and safety. It has been instrumental in promoting a ‘works with’ programme, covering the main eco-systems in the market, to enhance consumer confidence in their purchase and encourage add-on sales.
“Consumers expect Smart Tech products to communicate with each other regardless of whether they are from different vendors. Interoperability has been an issue and our ‘works with’ matrix enables retailers to promote products safe in the knowledge that they are compatible. With so many new products on the market, consumers have the opportunity to personalise their home and take advantage of the efficiency and security that these products can provide” adds Rod.
