Rithum expands smart home capabilities with new Video Intercom solution for Rithum Switch Pro.
Rithum, the award-winning smart home control company, is excited to announce the launch of its new Video Intercom solution, combining Audio Intercom and Video Streaming features to deliver a seamless, fully integrated smart home communication system.
As part of this launch, Rithum is introducing the Audio Intercom feature, now included as standard with Rithum Switch Pro. This new functionality allows users to accept P2P SIP calls with bidirectional audio from any compatible door intercom, enabling real-time communication at the touch of a button.
Shortly following this, Rithum will introduce the Video Streaming plugin, enabling RTSP h.264/h.265 video streaming, further enhancing the intercom capabilities. The combined Video Intercom solution supports SIP, RTSP, and other industry standards, ensuring broad compatibility with numerous intercom systems. Notably, the RTSP video stream can originate from an external CCTV camera rather than the intercom itself, making it flexible for a variety of setups. These features have already been successfully tested with leading intercom brands such as 2N and Doorbird.
Versatile
The Video Intercom solution enhances the versatility of Rithum Switch Pro by enabling it to function as a complete intercom panel, adding another layer of convenience and security to smart homes and professional installations. Any door intercom that supports P2P SIP calling can now connect directly to Rithum Switch Pro, allowing users to communicate with visitors efficiently from their wall-mounted touchscreen controller.

This launch builds on Rithum’s recent (and requested) integrations with the LoxoneandControl4smart home ecosystems. These integrations provide both scene-based and level-based control, alongside advanced automation features.
Rithum’s software thermostat feature Rithum Stat can now be used as a thermostat within Control4, while in Loxone, Rithum Switch Pro can feed temperature sensor data into Loxone’s Smart Room Controller, enhancing energy efficiency and comfort. The Audio Intercom feature has already begun rolling out as part of a firmware update on all Rithum Switch Pro’s. The Video Streaming plugin, completing the full Video Intercom solution, will follow shortly.
