Next to release its ISE info is window treatment specialist QMotion UK.
The company say it will reveal how its QiS two-way wireless control solution for automated Roller Shades can deliver reliable, quiet-running and easy to retrofit motorised blinds in residential and commercial applications.
“Blind control is an increasingly important part of the job for professional installers, working in high end home cinemas, fully integrated smart properties and sophisticated conference or corporate boardroom projects,” says Ian Claxton, director at QMotion UK. “Clients appreciate the convenience, comfort and aesthetic value of an automated solution. QMotion UK offers a fantastic, high margin option for integrators that brings these benefits and many others to end-users. At ISE 2018, we are increasing our integration partner brands to make system set up, configuration and control even quicker and simpler.”
Expandable
Installers can deploy a QMotion QiS solution in single or multiple rooms within a property and receive feedback on automated shade positioning for improved performance, remote monitoring and maintenance, says the maker.
Using ZigBee HA 1.2, QiS is designed to be easy to set up, configure and integrate with all compatible devices in a Control4 home automation system. Drivers are also available for integration with Vantage, Crestron, Savant, URC, RTI and other popular control platforms via a compact QMotion Qube integration device.
At the show, QMotion UK is also announcing new integration partnerships with Bang & Olufsen, Barco, Loxone and Rako.
In terms of functionality, the blinds can be grouped and automated to raise and lower to four selected, programmable positions. They feature automatic safety braking to ensure they never pass completely over the top of the roller, when rising. QMotion’s patented manual override command also allows homeowners to operate the blinds by hand, where required, without damaging the automated mechanism. Each Qube can support up to 32 blinds or up to 60 blinds when used with a QMotion Range Extender on larger installations. Stand alone control is also available, if required.
QMotion UK says its products are also efficient thanks to a patented counterbalancing spring system which keeps motor power consumption to a minimum and delivers near silent operation.
As a wireless solution, installation in existing homes can be carried out quickly and easily, with minimal disruption.
Visitors to ISE 2018 will also be able to see how QMotion roller shade brackets provide what the company claims are the industry’s smallest light gaps. This ensures a very discreet installation in projects where the integrity of the design scheme is important. The company offers a choice of 600 fabric design and colour options together with a bespoke fabric service to meet different design preferences.
