Prove your humanity

Projection mapping is currently extremely popular with venues and events across the world, and Optoma is hoping to make putting on a projection mapped show even easier with the launch of a new App dubbed Projection Mapper.

Optoma is targeting the new App at literally anyone who wants to get going with projection mapping quickly and simply; meaning homeowners, businesses, DJs, party planners and more.

The App will project onto any surface in the home, retail space, party venue or event to completely transform the look and feel of the space. People can achieve, at home, a projection mapped experience that is typically only ever see at large events. With Halloween and Christmas around the corner, Optoma is hoping that it will be popular.

For the launch, Optoma is giving away a GT1080e Full HD short throw projector for the best video of the App in action. The competition is open to UK residents and requires people to create a short video of the App in action and share it on the Projection Mapper competition tab on Optoma UK’s Facebook page.

Projection Mapper can be used to beam multiple images and video onto 3D surfaces – known as projection mapping. It is available for download on the App Store, Google Play or the Amazon AppStore, it is designed for use with a digital projector and is compatible with Android, iOS and Amazon Kindle Fire devices.

Joe Ahmed, head of marketing at Optoma EMEA, comments: “We‘re incredibly excited to launch Projection Mapper and proud to be leading the way with this innovative development. It allows people to get even more from their projector. This app brings the engaging and unique experience of projection mapping to the masses via an affordable and extremely intuitive app tool.”

Projection Mapper will work with any projector that can be connected to a smart device – using a compatible cable or wirelessly with a streaming dongle. And it can be used across multiple devices from smartphones to tablets.

The interface is designed to make it as simple as possible for absolutely anyone looking to achieve a professional result. A free content pack with multiple images and videos is included. Additional themed content packs can be purchased or users can use their own images and video content. More content packs themed around events throughout the year will be released regularly.

The Projection Mapper competition closes on November 30, 2016.  Full terms and conditions are available on www.facebook.com/OptomaUK
