AliceSpanish broadcaster RTVE has launched a ‘Red Button’ HbbTV App with Dolby Digital Plus.
Dolby Digital Plus is part of the HbbTV European industry standard for hybrid TV.
RTVE’s HbbTV App will deliver select content in Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 audio including classical music and fictional programmes, such as Treasure Island and Blade Runner.
The HbbTV service is available to RTVE TV subscribers in Spain and through the RTVE Internacional channel in other countries.
Dolby Digital Plus delivers authentic, high-quality audio via broadcast channels or IP content on an HbbTV service.
