DT Screens Joins Barco Residential By Partnering With Meridian

Meridian Audio has added to its ‘ultimate home cinema experience’ offering by welcoming DT Screens into the club. The projection screen supplier joins Barco Residential, which due to working with Meridian, enables the AV manufacturer to offer installers in the UK the ability to access and specify Barco’s Loki 4K DLP laser home cinema projector.

What DT Screens brings to the mix is allowing Meridian to offer UK dealers the DT Screens solution. The screen manufacturer describes its screens as being ‘luxury home cinema projection screens,’ adding that its flagship Dynamic series of motorised masking screens are ‘the most advanced and easy to use masking solution available.’

Let’s not forget that Meridian launched its complimentary Design and Specification Service in August this year, which was designed to assist dealers in planning their project schemes as efficiently and accurately as possible. In line with this announcement, Meridian is pleased to announce that DT Screens are now also fully integrated into this service alongside the manufacturer’s own audio systems, Barco’s projectors and Cinema–ATS’ acoustic treatment solutions.

With a 200mm two-part bezel design and starting at just 100mm deep, Dynamic is available with all DT Screens surfaces and can be specified in any size or aspect ratio up to 5.1m wide. In fact, all DT Screens models are available up to 5.1m in width as standard and can be created in much larger sizes on request.

Custom designed certainly seems to be the name of the game here, with the manufacturer placing a strong focus on creating a bespoke control system with screen awareness logic, silent motors and unique sensors connected to the masking bars to facilitate accurate operation. Tight spaces have also been taken care of, as a Dynamic screen can be installed directly on to the wall.

Paired with Barco’s 4K Loki projector, which also has a focus on the custom end-user experience – boasting aspherical glass elements and enhanced low dispersion glass lenses, support for HDR, and the ability to output to 12,000 lumens – and Meridian’s ultimate home cinema experience shows that it means business.

“We wanted to make specifying and installing a projection screen as easy as possible for dealers,” explains Neil Davidson, managing director of DT Screens. “Pricing is divided in to 30cm bands based only on screen width, so that the initial proposal can be made quickly without having to worry about the impact of small changes later. We have also developed our screens so that the aluminium frame is mounted on the wall first, and then the projection surface and velvet bezels can be installed at the very end of the project. This is a key innovation that makes the installation process much easier for the dealer, and ensures that the sensitive screen is not damaged during the project.

“With Meridian on board as a distributor, we look forward to growing our presence in the UK market, and working together to provide the complete home cinema solution.”

“Our new partnership with DT Screens is a really exciting development for Meridian,” adds Rayner Sheridan, meridian’s director of marketing. “Working together with DT Screens allows us to expand our offering to dealers so that we can provide a comprehensive home cinema solution, in addition to a range of projectors from Barco Residential and our own audio systems. We are delighted to be able to expand our product offering to include this innovative technology, and look forward to working with dealers on some wonderful home cinema projects.”
