Daniel J SaitBluesound has introduced the new PULSE SUB, a completely redesigned wireless powered subwoofer offering 350W of amplification, dual-opposing 6.5in woofers and integration with the BluOS ecosystem.
Designed to add greater depth and impact to movies, music, TV and gaming, the new PULSE SUB offers 2.5 times more power than the previous generation while retaining a compact footprint suitable for modern living spaces.
Two custom 6.5in woofers operate in an opposing configuration, powered by a 350W amplifier with Smart DSP technology. Positioning the woofers opposite one another helps counteract mechanical forces, reducing unwanted cabinet vibration and resonance while delivering deep, controlled low-frequency performance.
“Great bass shouldn’t be loud and boomy. It should bring you closer to what you are watching or listening to without calling attention to where it is coming from,” says Matt Simmonds, VP of Bluesound Product Development.
“With the PULSE SUB, we completely rethought the acoustic and industrial design to deliver more than double the power while keeping it compact, controlled and easy to live with. Pair it with the PULSE CINEMA and PULSE FLEX and you have a complete wireless surround sound system that is incredibly simple to set up but feels like the cinema.”
The PULSE SUB is designed as a natural partner for Bluesound’s PULSE CINEMA and PULSE CINEMA MINI wireless soundbars. Through the BluOS Controller app, users can wirelessly pair the subwoofer and adjust volume, crossover frequency and phase to suit the room and system.
Compatibility also extends to other Bluesound players, including the POWERNODE, PULSE M and PULSE FLEX, allowing users to add greater low-frequency performance to music systems around the home. A low-level analogue input enables the PULSE SUB to operate as a wired active subwoofer with other audio systems.
Occupying just over one square foot of floor space, the new model features soft contours, tonal-weave fabric grilles and matte satin finishes designed to complement the latest generation of Bluesound PULSE wireless speakers. Integrated cable management channels help keep wiring out of sight.
Connection is available via Wi-Fi or Ethernet, with BluOS providing wireless pairing and control. The combination of flexible positioning, app-based configuration and wired connectivity is designed to make the PULSE SUB suitable for both BluOS-based and more traditional audio systems.
