A new AC/DC themed turntable has been unleashed by Pro-Ject, taking inspiration from the band’s iconic logo and electrifying sound. Let there be rock indeed!
The legendary rock band AC/DC is known for its electrifying sound and high-energy performances. The Australian band became iconic for its rock anthems, including Back in Black, Highway to Hell and Thunderstruck. The band’s logo is one of the most recognisable symbols in rock music. The iconic font is reminiscent of a lightning bolt, which inspired Pro-Ject to create this special turntable design.
The new AC/DC turntable is engineered for audiophiles and music enthusiasts. The plinth is made of MDF, offering a strong base. The stainless-steel axle of the precision acrylic sub-platter sits in a bronze bushing. A design highlight is the red LED lighting of the sub-platter. The flat silicon belt connects to the AC motor, ensuring stable speeds. The glass platter is a heavy, zero-resonance design.
The high mass of the platter produces the tightest and most accurate playback speeds, says the maker, while also allowing the listener to see the stunning turntable and all of its high-quality components—avoiding the flaws of plastic or lightweight construction. The low-resonance tonearm is a completely new design and follows the design concept of the AC/DC logo. The pre-adjusted Ortofon 2M Red cartridge fits the whole concept and delivers the perfect sound, says the maker. The product is handmade with care in Europe, underlines Pro-Ject.
