Just Add Power says the systems do not require an upgrade to fibre optic cabling and 10GB managed switches, 3G Ultra HD over IP can deliver multiple sources of 4K content with HDCP 2.2 from HDMI 2.0 devices, as well as Full HD 1080p and lower content from HDMI 1.x devices, to a virtually unlimited number of screens (HDMI 2.0 or HDMI 1.x) using a standard Cat 5e/6 cabling infrastructure over a gigabit network.
The 3G receivers have a built in 4K upscaler/downscaler that can be used to downscale 2160p content to 1080p for display on full HD 1080p / HDMI 1.x screens and upscale a 1080p image to 2160p for display on a 4K-capable screen.
The built-in scaler and seamless HDCP handling enables all content to be shown on any display whatever its resolution and HDCP version.
Whereas traditionally installers would have had to place additional signal management hardware at each display location for handling a mixture of 4K and non-4K screens or replace problematic older TVs within the home, Just Add Power says the release of the 3G Ultra HD transmitters and receivers guarantee that sources and displays – both 4K and otherwise – will play nice, seamlessly switching between multiple resolutions with no handshaking issues or visible delay.
All that is needed to make a 4K-capable video matrix is one 3G transmitter per HDMI 2.0 or HDMI 1.x source, one receiver and 3G receiver per HDMI 2.0 or HDMI 1.x display and a supported model of gigabit managed switch, which can be quickly programmed using a laptop.
The feature set of the 3G Ultra HD over IP devices includes HDCP 2.2 support, video wall support, 3D and interlaced video support, optional Dolby down-mixing from 5.1 and support for uncompressed multi-channel audio formats including Atmos.

HDanywhere Expansion
With the expansion of HDanywhere’s mHub family, HD Connectivity says there is now an mHub system suitable for virtually every residential installation scenario, from a single HDMI source to five HD displays in a family home, through to eight Ultra HD (HDCP 2.2) sources to eight 4K displays in a luxury property.
HDanywhere’s new expanded mHub family of HDMI distribution products, divided into 2K-capable (Full HD 1080p) and 4K-capable models with HDCP 2.2, will be shown at Essential Install Live! North, HDanywhere’s UK trade supplier stands: ACE / HD Media Partnership (Stand 80), AWE (Stand 66-69) and Unicam (Stand 64).
Show-goers can get an exclusive glimpse at the brand’s soon-to-be-launched mHub 4K 4×4 and 8×8 HDBaseT-Pro (Class A) systems with HDCP 2.2 support and the full 5-Play feature set including PoH, Ethernet, ARC at the hub, multi-channel audio extraction and stereo extraction at the hub.
Both mHub 4K models boast HDCP 2.2 support for encrypted 4K source content.
In addition to the manufacturer’s 4K offering, show attendees can check out the recently launched an mHub 2K 8×8 HDMI over Cat matrix with full HD 1080p support, ARC (on RX), audio extraction at the hub and two HDMI loop outs for easy AVR integration.
There is also an mHub 2K 4×4 model available for small to medium-sized installs, plus a new mHub 2K 1×4 HDMI over Cat splitter with local HDMI output for distribution of a single source device to five displays: ideal for clients who don’t require a full-blown HDMI matrix.
New bigger, better mHub 2K 8×8 now shipping
The new mHub 2K 8×8 matrix (RRP £2,499 inc VAT) that allows dealers to facilitate larger home installs, delivering full HD 1080p up to 50m over a single Cat6 cable from eight source devices to eight displays with two-way IR, audio extraction at the hub, multi-channel audio support and two HDMI loop outs on the central chassis, is also now available.
The new mHub 2K 8×8 features added audio capabilities that make system integration simpler, with audio extraction supported via ARC (on RX) or via 3.5mm jack on the central chassis, whilst two HDMI pass-through ports on the central hub allow for the integration of AVRs for multi-channel audio zones or mirrored displays.
The mHub 2K 8×8 has been engineered to be as reliable and easy to install as the earlier 4×4 model.
HD Connectivity says the 8×8 model similarly caters to a range of home sizes and provides a well-rounded, all-in-one multi-room HDTV system at a hard-to-beat price point for installers.
Control is delivered through TCP/IP, RS232 or direct IR, meaning the mHub 2K 8×8 can be easily integrated with a variety of third-party control systems.
The 50m silver display receivers measure 49(W) X 81 (D) X 25 (H) mm and can be powered by either a 5V power supply or by USB to 5V power cables (if supported by the display) for a neater in-room finish.
Every mHub 2K 8×8 comes supplied with eight USB to 5V power leads.
The mHub 2K 8×8 also has a slimmer, more streamlined form factor than the brand’s earlier Modular 4K 8×8 matrix.
The central hub is just 1U in size and, based on installer feedback, has intuitive buttons for source switching on its front panel alongside an LCD display.
The aesthetics of the mHub 2K line-up have been updated across the board with the original mHub 2K 4×4 undergoing a redesign to match the new 8×8 model.
All mHub 2K 8×8 matrixes are sold as complete install packages.
In the box, dealers get access to everything they need for an 8×8 install: a 1U rack-mountable central hub with rack ears and 12V PSU, eight slimline receivers with 5V PSUs, IR kit, and a small matrix remote.
The mHub 2K 8×8 is just one of five new additions to HDanywhere’s mHub lineup, which is subdivided into 2K Full HD 1080p-capable products and 4K-capable products with HDCP 2.2.
