CEDIA is leading global Smart Home Day activities on November 3, 2026, bringing together smart home integrators, architects and design professionals through webinars, networking opportunities and resources designed to encourage greater collaboration.
For the second consecutive year, CEDIA, the Association for Smart Home Professionals, is coordinating activities for Smart Home Day, with a particular emphasis on strengthening relationships between the technology integration and design and build sectors.
This year’s event marks the first Smart Home Day since CEDIA established its dedicated design and build department, reflecting the association’s commitment to bringing technology professionals closer to architects, interior designers and other industry specialists.
“Smart Home Day 2026 is particularly special as it’s CEDIA’s first with a dedicated design and build department in place,” says CEDIA Global President and CEO, Daryl Friedman. “With that, we’re bringing a fresh focus to the intersection of technology and design. I look forward to seeing this year’s Smart Home Day build on last year’s momentum and bring even more people together who are shaping the future of the home.”

Smart Home Day 2026 Events and Resources
CEDIA has organised a programme of educational activities and resources designed to help professionals explore the relationship between smart home technology and residential design.
The programme includes:
- RIBA Webinar: Designing the Connected Home – November 3 at 11am GMT, aimed at exploring the integration of technology into residential design.
- NKBA|KBIS Webinar: Home Theaters & Media Rooms: A Design-Forward Approach – November 3 at 12pm ET (5pm GMT), focusing on design-led approaches to home entertainment spaces.
- Smart Home Day Toolkit – A collection of customisable campaign materials, including social media graphics, captions, logos, advertisements and a press release template.
- Industry Articles and Blogs – Content exploring the relationship between technology and design.
- CEDIA Awards Inspiration Gallery – A showcase of award-winning smart homes highlighting the latest trends in residential technology integration.
CEDIA is also encouraging members to organise their own Smart Home Day activities, including showroom events, meetings with local architects and designers and social media campaigns highlighting the benefits of professionally installed smart home technology.
Andrea Harvey, CEDIA Design and Build Director, believes the initiative offers an important opportunity to strengthen relationships between the sectors.
“As a designer who now has the privilege of working within the CEDIA channel on a daily basis, every day feels a little like Smart Home Day to me. But I know that’s not the case for every designer,” says Andrea. “Having a dedicated day on the calendar makes design and tech collaboration impossible to ignore and gives us an opportunity to bring more people into the conversation.”
The initiative also reinforces the growing importance of involving technology integrators earlier in the residential design process, helping ensure that connected home systems complement architectural and interior design objectives.
Smart Home Day 2026 takes place on Tuesday, November 3.
