AliceHabitech has introduced the Ruckus ZoneFlex R710 dual-band Wave2 802:11AC access point to UK custom integrators.
The new Ruckus ZoneFlex R710 combines Wave2 ac and 4×4:4 MIMO to deliver what the manufacturer is calling ‘unprecedented’ wireless network speed and range to up to 500 concurrent clients.
Purpose-built for high-capacity, high performance and interference-laden environments, the ZoneFlex R710 is designed to meet the increasing data demands of mobile Wi-Fi clients and data-hungry applications such as HD-quality IP video streaming.
It is backward compatible with all existing Wi-Fi infrastructure and can function either as a standalone AP or as part of centrally-managed Wireless LAN.
The super compact R710 is Ruckus’ highest performing four-stream 802.11ac AP, integrating Ruckus patented technologies with 802.11ac features to deliver Wi-Fi performance and reliability in high device density environments.
With capacities of 800 Mbps (2.4GHz) and 1.7Gbps (5GHz), the ZoneFlex R710 offers the highest available throughput for Wi-Fi clients. Support for 802.11ac Multi-User MIMO (MU-MIMO) allows the R710 to transmit to multiple client devices simultaneously, drastically improving airtime efficiency, overall throughput and availability.
Four discrete, dual band smart antenna arrays create over 4,000 unique directional antenna patterns that are managed by Ruckus’ BeamFlex+ smart antenna technology to provide an increase in performance and range.
By directing Wi-Fi signals where they are needed rather than towards neighbouring Aps, BeamFlex+ is said to also reduce co-channel interference by up to 50%. Dual polarization antennas allow BeamFlex+ technology to adapt to the physical orientation of client devices and maximize uplink performance.
Equipped with two 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports, one with 802.3af/at PoE, the ZoneFlex R710 will integrate with existing network infrastructure, avoiding the need for PoE switch upgrades. The manufacturer states that the R710 is the only Wave2 ac device that will operate over standard 802.3af PoE.
