StormAudio is gearing up for ISE 2017, where it is set to unveil its brand new 16-channel integrated immersive audio processor. Named the I.ISP 3D.16.12, this is the company’s first combination integrated amplifier / AV processor, boasting built-in compatibility with Auro-3D, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, as well as UHD 4K video.
“It is the perfect solution for today’s home cinemas where use of separate preamp/processors and amps are not ideal due to either budget or space limitations,” explains StormAudio senior vice president Yves Trélohan.
The unit outputs 12-channels at a reported 200W each and is expandable to 16-channels by way of optional external amplifiers or powered subwoofers. Delivery is scheduled for February 2017, costing €13.990 (approximately £12,000).
The I.ISP 3D.16.12 delivers fully-configurable speaker management and is suited to drive configurations from 5.1 to 13.1. Its scalable modular platform approach and incorporated 4-balanced XLR outputs also make connection to an external amplifiers or powered subwoofers easy (not to mention raising the total output to 16-channels).
Built into the I.ISP 3D.16.12 integrated amp/processor is StormAudio’s proprietary immersive audio processing (ISP), StormOptimizer room calibration and StormRemote web-based monitoring tools. The I.ISP 3D.16.12 is equipped with eight-HDMI inputs and two-outputs with UHD 4K and HDCP2.2 and HDMI2.0 support.
For private headphone listening, incorporated is SpherAudio, a binaural technology that delivers a immersive sound experience from native or virtualised sources.
Also on show on the StormAudio stand at ISE will be the manufacturer’s line of immersive audio hardware, including live demonstrations of Auro-3D, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X with exhibit partner Triad Speakers.
The hardware line consists of four preamp/processors (from 16- to 32-channels), plus three power amplifiers (8- to 16-channels).
Immersive Sound Processor
Each StormAudio immersive audio processor utilises advanced immersive sound processing (ISP), has built-in compatibility with Auro-3D, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, and fully-integrates into ‘leading’ home control systems. Each processor shares the same intuitive GUI, modular platform and web-based remote-monitoring program.
“This consistent GUI and platform make it easier to install and add channels, requiring significantly less training time,” says Yves.
The models are the 16-channel ISP 3D.16 ELITE (€9.990,00 MSRP); 32-channel ISP 3D.32 ELITE (available in analogue or digital €13.990,00 MSRP) and 32-channel ISP 3D.32 ELITE | Reference Edition (€17.500,00 MSRP).
Amplifiers
StormAudio offers 8- and 16-channel amplifers to complement its processors. Each benefit from a large power supply with highly-efficient high-current amplifier modules and employ an electronically-managed vent system for temperature control, making them ideal for rack-mounting. The amps are also remotely-monitored.
The models are the eight-channel PA 8 ELITE (€5.990,00 MSRP); higher-current 8-channel PA 8 ULTRA ELITE (€7.500,00 MSRP) and 16-channel PA 16 ELITE (€8.990,00 MSRP).
Take A Tour Of Galaxy Studios During ISE
During ISE day two, StormAudio is bringing a group of dealers and distribution partners to visit its headquarters in Mol, Belgium, located at Galaxy Studios – where Auro Technologies’ hardware and licensing division also resides.
Departure from RAI takes place at 13:00. At the facility, visitors will get an inside look into StormAudio, Auro-3D and Auro Technologies’ vision on Immersive Audio, including a presentation in the building’s Auro 11.1 cinema.
Visitors will also be treated to a cocktail party/networking session and buffet dinner, followed by another reception at the studio’s Galaxy Bar. At 21:45 the visitors will be transported back to Amsterdam.
