Logitech’s latest update for its Harmony Hub has brought home automation into the mix, with the company offering enhanced home control capabilities to all Harmony Hub users.
The software update opens up more users to the features and functionality that was launched with the Harmony Home Hub, with every single hub-compatible product being upgradeable to the new software.
That means the Logitech Harmony Ultimate, Harmony Smart Control and Harmony Smart Keyboard now allow for controlling Philips Hue bulbs and the Nest Learning Thermostat, among other smart home products.
“At Logitech Harmony, we’re always looking for ways to improve the experience our customers have with our products,” says Bruce Lancaster, general manager and vice president of Logitech Harmony.
“We’re focused on creating the best control experience for our customers bar none – not just in the living room, but throughout the home and beyond. Today’s update allows us to deliver that best-in-class experience to the largest community of connected home users in the world.”
Logitech’s smart home platform is already compatible with a range of products from a variety of manufacturers, with Lutron, Honeywell, SmartThings, Rheem, PEQ and more all being supported.
With this latest update Harmony Hub users will be able to schedule activities to start and end automatically at specific times, as well use partner applications like IFTTT to control their hubs.
The Logitech Harmony software upgrade has begun rolling out worldwide and is available for free to all users.
