Prove your humanity

The Apple Watch has been available in the UK since April 10, but on June 26 it’ll be reaching more locations around the world, including some right here in Europe.

Switzerland will be the most notable country for the Apple Watch to launch in – and not because of its large size.

The watch industry has relied heavily on being ‘Swiss-made’ and it’ll be interesting to see if the country buys into Apple’s wearable.

Other countries receiving the Apple Watch includes Italy, Mexico, Singapore, South Korea, Spain and Taiwan.

While the expansion of the number of regions the Apple Watch is available in will be key for the company’s continued growth in the market, it’ll also represent the first time the wearable will be available in Apple’s brick and mortar retail stores.

Not all models will be available to purchase in person, although those that aren’t as popular most likely will be; with Apple finally shifting shipping dates to ‘within the next two weeks’ rather than the lengthy waits many customers have had up until now.

“We’re also making great progress with the backlog of Apple Watch orders, and we thank our customers for their patience,” Jeff Williams, Apple’s SVP of operations, says in a statement.

Apple currently allows customers to try on the watch in their retail stores, although they have, up until now, been forced to order it online.

Of course there were several pop-up boutiques that were selling the Apple Watch, but they are few and far between, and mainly centred in large population areas such as London.

The Apple Watch has already seen a sea of change in the home automation industry, with nearly every company from Crestron to Insteon rushing to get their App out to consumers.
