Prove your humanity

Seymour-Screen Excellence, StormAudio, Ascendo Immersive Audio, Christie, Moovia and Lumagen will present a home theatre demonstration at CEDIA Expo 2024. This year’s demo features several new partners, a hybrid audio-over-IP system and a larger sound room that accommodates three rows of seating.

“We have pulled these brands together because they truly support the integrator. Just as we have come together to design what is certain to be another acclaimed demo, we are always available to assist in specification and best practices, and in many instances personally take on installation and calibration at the jobsite. We are true partners,” says Seymour-Screen Excellence Managing Director Chris Seymour.

Ascendo will feature its flagship Black Swans as screen channels and debut a radical new subwoofer design. The entire speaker system will demonstrate the unique advantages of professional-grade coaxial designs, delivering consistent timing and response symmetry to each of the 12 luxury Moovia seats.

Making for a hybrid AoIP 13.12.10 system, Ascendo’s new AoIP network-enabled amplifiers will drive the Black Swans and subs, digitally connecting via Cat6 Ethernet to StormAudio’s ISP Elite 32 Digital AoIP MK3, which will manage processing and calibration. StormAudio’s MK3 PA 8 Ultra amps are powering the Ascendo surrounds and top channels via a classic XLR configuration.

“Our demo last year of multi-channel networked audio attracted a lot of attention, so partnering with Ascendo to show how efficiently a theatre of this size can be connected, powered, and controlled over AoIP is something that we can help integrators make a reality,” says StormAudio CEO, Olivier Thumerel.

A CEDIA Expo-first, Seymour-Screen Excellence will demonstrate its commercial grade Enlightor-PRO (0.9 gain) acoustically transparent screen surface, the screen choice of mastering studios worldwide.

It will be mated to their four-way Adjustable Ratio Theater (ART) Masking System at 13.5 feet wide. This combination brings reference level audio and video performance and at commercial cinema sizes (up to 550-inches) to residential and corporate screening rooms.

Illuminating the screen will be a Christie Griffyn 4K35-RGB projector. With 36,500 lumens, native 4K resolution, 98% of the Rec. 2020 colour space, proprietary RGB pure laser illumination architecture and energy-efficient and compact design, this projector is optimised to deliver a premium home theatre experience.

Lumagen’s Radiance Pro 5244 will manage video processing. Key attributes include Dynamic Tone Mapping for High Dynamic Range content, customisation features and automatic source aspect selection – directly controlling the Seymour-Screen Excellence masking system.

A new partner to the group demo, Lumagen President Jim Peterson states, “The Radiance Pro is designed for your client to ‘Experience what the Director Intended.’ Its performance and feature set make it an essential component for every home cinema.”

Also new to the demo and US CEDIA channel is Moovia. The German seating manufacturer is featuring three rows of its luxury Marbella model.

Moovia CEO Frank Dlugas says, “We are excited to not only be showing our products at Expo for the first time, but to partner with this incredible group. We believe our Marbella seating will do its part in contributing to the entire luxury theatre experience.”

Throughout the three-day event, industry experts Chris Seymour, Evan Zerby (Seymour-Screen Excellence), Olivier Thumerel, Sébastien Gailleton, Gary Blouse, Matthew Trinklein (StormAudio), Geoffrey Heinzel, Todd Sutherland (Ascendo Immersive Audio), Jim Peterson (Lumagen), Andras Ratkai, Todd Sutherland (Moovia), Doug Boyer (Christie), and Brett Bjorkquist (MRKTMKR/FAQnatics) will be available to provide in-depth insights and engage with dealers, sales reps and accompanying trades.

A private media-only press event is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 6 (Day 2), 8 AM, at the group’s demo Sound Room 4.
