Lewis CaliburnShade Innovations (SI) has announced major performance upgrades to its flagship KAOS (Kick Ass Outdoor Shades) platform. The enhancements include SI’s new high-power, quiet outdoor motor, a weather-resistant IP5 remote and the introduction of the Onyx Glide Rail System.
With these latest upgrades, Shade Innovations further extends KAOS’s leadership in wind resistance, smooth operation and long-term performance.
At the core of the upgrade is SI’s new 50 Nm Smart Quiet Motor, delivering significantly increased torque for greater turning power under demanding outdoor conditions, while operating smoother and quieter than any motor in its class. Designed specifically for outdoor applications, the motor features adjustable obstacle detection for enhanced safety and long-term system protection.
Complementing the new motor is the Onyx Glide Rail System, a fully re-engineered rail platform purpose-matched to KAOS. Onyx is built from a proprietary, self-lubricating material infused with UV-hardening pigments, which SI claims makes it virtually indestructible.
After years of real-world testing in harsh environments, including heat, UV, wind, salt air and moisture, Onyx is stronger, quieter, and more durable than ever before. Rounding out the upgrade is a new IP5-rated weather-resistant remote, designed for reliable outdoor control and seamless user interaction, even in challenging conditions.
