Ruark unveils R710 Music Console and new Talisman-R floorstanders

Ruark has unveiled its new R710 Music Console and Talisman-R floorstanding speakers.

The most powerful introduction to the 100 Series yet, the R710 pays homage to the resurgence of physical media. Seamlessly blending modern streaming technology with an integrated CD player and built-in phono stage for an effortless turntable hook-up, the R710 combines streaming, CD playback and analogue connectivity in a single system.

Inspired by 1970s hi-fi design, the unit features a large front-mounted colour display, tactile controls and a matching Bluetooth remote.

Designed as a comprehensive music system, the R710 supports Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, Apple AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Internet Radio and aptX HD Bluetooth. It also includes an integrated CD player, moving magnet phono input, HDMI ARC/eARC connectivity and support for playback from networked media servers and USB storage devices.

Power is delivered via a Class-D amplifier rated at 2 x 200W, with Ruark stating that the system has been engineered to provide effortless sound reproduction across a wide range of music sources.

The R710 has a frequency response of 22Hz–22kHz and will be available in Fused Walnut or Satin Charcoal finishes. UK pricing is set at £2,199.

Alongside the R710, Ruark has reintroduced one of its best-known loudspeaker designs with the launch of the Talisman-R. The new model marks the fourth generation of the Talisman range, originally introduced in 1990, and has been developed to combine the character of the original design with modern engineering and styling.

The Talisman-R is a two-way, bass-reflex floorstanding speaker featuring a 165mm NS+ treated fibre woofer and a 27mm silk dome tweeter. Ruark says the drivers are integrated through an optimised crossover network using premium audio-grade components to reduce distortion and improve signal transfer.

A key element of the design is a decoupled front baffle mounted on elastomer bushes, which is intended to reduce vibration transfer from the drivers into the cabinet. The enclosure also incorporates internal bracing, damping materials and a dual-flared port system designed to minimise colouration and improve overall sound quality.

The speakers offer a quoted frequency response of 35Hz–22kHz, sensitivity of 87dB and a nominal impedance of 6 ohms.

Available in Fused Walnut veneer or Satin Charcoal lacquer finishes, the Talisman-R is priced at £1,499 per pair.
