Pro‑Ject expands streaming line-up with Stream Box E and Wireless Box E

Pro-Ject Audio Systems is expanding its streaming line-up with two new products designed for modern hi-fi systems: the Stream Box E, a compact network streamer and the Wireless Box E, a wireless audio receiver for passive loudspeakers. The two new additions make streaming and multi-room audio even easier to integrate into hi-fi systems.

Renowned for its turntables, Pro-Ject continues to develop a broader ecosystem around modern listening habits. Both products are powered by WiiM OS, forming the foundation of Pro-Ject’s new generation of compact streaming and wireless audio solutions.

The Stream Box E is a compact all-in-one streaming component designed to add network music playback to a wide range of audio systems. It functions as both a network streamer, providing access to streaming services such as Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect and Qobuz and as a digital preamp with volume control and inputs for external sources. This allows it to be used as the central control point of a system or as a simple add-on to an existing amplifier.

Stream Box E is powered by WiiM OS. Combined with the new Pro-Ject Home app, setup is easy, with day-to-day control handled through a single interface. The result is rapid system integration, reliable performance and intuitive control. The unit is designed to sit between traditional hi-fi components and modern streaming services without requiring changes to the wider system.

The Stream Box E can typically be used in three main ways. First, it can upgrade a traditional hi-fi system. If the user already has an amplifier, they can connect the Stream Box E to instantly add streaming services such as Spotify, TIDAL and Qobuz, removing the need to change the core system.

Second, it can be used to build a simple separate system. When paired with a power amplifier and passive speakers, the Stream Box E handles both streaming and volume control, operating as a modern digital preamplifier.

Finally, it can turn active speakers into a compact streaming system. By connecting directly to active speakers, the Stream Box E creates a streamlined setup with streaming and source switching, without the need for additional components.

The Stream Box E also includes an analogue input, allowing a turntable to be connected and shared across compatible devices within the Pro-Ject wireless ecosystem. This enables both digital and analogue sources to be distributed around the home from a single unit.

The Wireless Box E is an innovative design from a company focused on reducing the complexity and cost of system upgrades. Powered by WiiM OS, it integrates seamlessly into Pro-Ject’s streaming ecosystem, and acts as a compact wireless receiver, delivering audio to passive loudspeakers.

It attaches directly to the rear terminals of Pro-Ject speakers, creating a discreet connection without the need for long speaker cable runs. For speakers where the Wireless Box E cannot be mounted directly due to terminal layout, the Connect it LS-E Flex 0.3 m extension cable can be used instead. It comes as a stereo pair (two cables) and is priced at Euro €29.90 (UK pricing to follow).

The concept is designed to simplify system layout and reduce visible cabling while maintaining a full hi-fi signal path. In use, each Wireless Box E is fitted to a single speaker, meaning a stereo pair requires two units. Each unit also requires a mains power connection.

Typical applications include integration with Pro-Ject and compatible speakers. Optimised for Pro-Ject’s own speaker range, the Wireless Box E attaches directly for a clean setup. It also supports third-party passive loudspeakers with similar terminal layouts and rear-panel recesses, while the optional extension cable enables installation where a direct connection is not possible.

It is also well suited to clean, speaker cable-free monitor placement. The Wireless Box E is ideal in situations where running speaker cables across a room is not practical. Finally, it supports multi-room expansion. By using the Wireless Box E, speakers can be added in another room without the need to run wires through walls or floors.

Both Stream Box E and Wireless Box E form part of a wider Pro-Ject streaming platform, joining the Uni Box S3 also powered by WiiM OS, which launched summer 2025. The system allows compatible devices to be linked across the home, enabling music to be shared between rooms or played independently in different spaces. It also supports the distribution of analogue sources, such as vinyl playback.

The Stream Box E is available now in black or silver through Pro-Ject’s UK dealer network, priced at £159 SRP (Euro MRSP: €179).

The Wireless Box E will be available from late May, priced at £199 SRP (Euro MRSP: €229) per unit.
