Audio-Technica has announced the latest limited-edition model in its portfolio of wooden headphones: the ATH-WBLTD.
With just 300 pairs available worldwide, the ATH-WBLTD portable wooden headphones are crafted from the same wood species used to build rare, high-end stringed instruments.
The ATH-WBLTD build upon the award-winning ATH-WB2022 wireless wooden headphones, launched in celebration of the company’s 60th anniversary in 2022.
Satisfying calls for analogue connectivity, the ATH-WBLTD bring the high-definition performance of wired listening to an Audio-Technica design.
Tuned specifically for analogue connections, the ATH-WBLTD’s new 45mm HD drivers draw upon decades spent in the pursuit of true, accurate sound reproduction. The result is a responsive and expressive soundscape, enhanced by a diamond-like carbon (DLC) coated diaphragm designed to reveal the subtlest tones in audio from the lowest frequencies to the highest.
The housings of the ATH-WBLTD are meticulously constructed from three layers of solid flame maple, walnut and mahogany. Chosen for its grain finish and acoustic and vibration-damping properties, the housings are hand polished by skilled artisans at Fujigen Inc., a leading Japanese manufacturer of guitars.
The stitched ergonomic earpads and headband are made from smooth, highly durable sheepskin for long-lasting comfort, while a lightweight, high-strength aluminium alloy frame helps to provide superior acoustics.
The Audio-Technica ATH-WBLTD is available now for an RRP of £1,599 / €1,799.
