Naim Audio owners are set to benefit from a new range of Chord Company designed and built Burndy upgrade cables, the dedicated power supply interconnects (carrying signal and power) used in many of Naim’s high-end products.
Chord Company’s Burndy upgrade cables use the same high-performance materials and construction techniques the Wiltshire company has become famous for, offering Naim users many of the performance benefits seen in the company’s wider portfolio.
Every Chord Company Burndy cable is handmade to order and uses the company’s shielding system, comprising silver-plated copper conductors, the flagship Taylon proprietary insulation, an acoustic braid, plus an anti-EMF braid – all protected by a black nylon outer jacket.
The Burndy design project was inspired by a number of factors: the original ChordBurndy developments, the Burndy-equipped Naim Audio NAP 300 amplifier used extensively in Chord Company’s listening room and the company’s origins in designing and building audio cables for Naim when it first formed back in 1985. With the NAP 300 available during the development of the Burndy cables, Chord Company found its shielding upgrades offered the biggest improvements.
Doug Maxwell, Chord Company’s Sales Director says, “We are delighted to be able to offer Naim users a clear upgrade path for their Burndy-equipped devices. The project has been both a fascinating and personal one for us, as we use a Burndy-equipped Naim NAP 300 in our listening room. We developed several prototypes and found getting individual improvements straightforward, however, we wanted the Burndy cables to transform our system. That’s why we chose to use our best materials and design techniques to create something that outperforms across all genres.”
The Chord Company Burndy cables are available in custom lengths and in the following configurations:
Single cable variants:
