Prove your humanity

Monitor Audio has announced a creative partnership with Martyn Ware – best known as one half of Heaven 17, but also as a founding member of The Human League and as the producer of best-selling albums from the likes of Terence Trent D’Arby and Tina Turner.

The ‘Adventures in the Electroverse’ exhibition is a fully immersive, multi-sensory art and sound installation that brings the ‘Electronically yours with Martyn Ware’ podcast into the physical world, and is presented at the New York Culture Club, World Trade Center.

Of the event Martyn says, “I’ve always been attracted to science fiction; it was a huge part of my youth, and to me, at least, can be beautifully represented through electronic music and the technology that enables it. Throughout my career, creating soundscapes and immersive experiences has been an important part of my relationship with music, the physical space and live playback. ‘Adventures in the Electroverse’ allows me to indulge in my passion for immersive sound, using content from my most recent love, my podcast, with wonderful stories from many of the friends I’ve made over the years.”

Combining Martyn’s love of oral history and 3D soundscape experiences, ‘Adventures in the Electroverse’ features content reimagined from his successful podcast. This is played back through Monitor Audio’s SoundFrame high-fidelity on-wall speakers, which are adorned with portraits of the friends that joined him on the show.

Launched in 2020, ‘Electronically Yours with Martyn Ware’ boasts almost 200 hundred in-depth interviews, with subjects as varied as the author Irvine Welsh, actor Steve Coogan, Boy George and producer and guitarist Nile Rodgers.

Uncovering unheard stories and behind-the-scenes insights, Martyn and his guests discuss some of the biggest hits that have shaped popular music culture as we know it.

Supporting the creative identity for the exhibition is Norman Hathaway, the Brooklyn based creative director and art historian. Norman has built his career serving a diverse range of clients across Europe and the US.

Adventures in the Electroverse, in partnership with Monitor Audio runs from May 5 to June 1 at the New York Culture Club, Oculus, C1 Level, South Concourse, 185 Greenwich Street, New York NY 10007.
