This series will be an addition to the brand’s current line-up.
Approximately two years of research and development went into the design of this model, with many prototypes and hundreds of tests in anechoic, semi-anechoic and domestic regimes. The F85 series is the spearhead of the UBSOUND philosophy which over the years has made crossover-less acoustic naturalness its flagship.
Marzio Gasparro – CEO of the UBSOUND group, explains, “We are proud to have created this one-of-a-kind loudspeaker, which has all it takes to soon be considered the best fullrange floor standing loudspeaker ever made. We worked assiduously with our engineers and designers on the three obstacles commonly associated with full-range loudspeakers present on the market.
“I am firstly referring to power handling, where we have achieved very high level performance from 5W to 250W power per channel on 8 ohm impedance and 90dB of sensitivity, so that the F85 could be an amazing speaker suitable for any amplification. The second obstacle to overcome was the frequency response, that generally is almost always limited in a full-range driver but we managed to gain in dynamics with a sensational and coherent soundstage in detail, which is precise but not too much analytical, even reaching 26Hz of low frequency and 22,000Hz of high frequency, dispelling any limitations generally associated with fullrange speakers, with a perfect acoustic image on every musical genre during playback.
“Lastly, the design phase was very detailed and few finishing touches were selected: we worked meticulously to best contextualize the concept of a luxury loudspeaker also as an elegant accessory in the most prestigious listening environments.”
Elegance and performance
The F85 handcrafted fullrange loudspeakers come in a single elegant finish painted entirely with automotive processes. The maker says the reflective glossy lacquered fashion black colour is so extraordinary that it surpasses – to the touch and sight – the classic piano black colour present in the audio industry.
The F85 model is available immediately for orders with a lead time of 10/12 weeks for production and lands on international markets at a recommended official price of 30.000 € per pair.
The first batch is already in production and will be ready shortly to satisfy the first welcome requests received from international resellers.
Marzio continues, “Obviously, availing only skilled Italian labour and top quality raw materials for an entirely handcrafted product is decidedly expensive, but it is a choice linked to our philosophy regarding the excellence of true Made in Italy, which with this model we brought to a climax in every single part, detail.”
The products boast their own exclusive gold-plated rear terminal plugs, conical horn bass-reflex, removable protective magnetic grills with a special acoustic-refractory design, internal sound-absorbing material in line with the company’s exclusive HDNSS audio technology. The speakers also have internal insulation of the wood, special rubber-gel coupler feet and internal high quality cables, all made by UBSOUND with its own design, using highly refined materials in every detail, some of which are manufactured with exclusive composite polymer resins and special reflective laminated chrome steel alloys, all made by laser cutting.
Marzio concludes, “Finally, even a superior Florentine protective cotton cloths artisanal embroidered with 100% cotton thread has been used for the supplied black graphite colour covers for the F85 at rest.
