Sky Germany is gearing up to broadcast its first 4K UHD content to subscribers who purchased its new Sky+ Pro box. The company has revealed that the first UHD TV football game will be shown on October 14.
The Sky+ Pro box promised to deliver 4K UHD broadcasts to Sky customers across Germany, like the Sky Q box promised in the UK, but while those subscribing to Sky UK are already able to enjoy 4K UHD content, those in Germany have been forced to continue waiting.
Sky Germany has confirmed that the wait is almost over however, with the Bundesliga match between Borussia Dortmund and Hertha BSC will be the first UHD TV football game shown on German televisions. That game will then be followed by the Bayer Leverkusen and Tottenham Hotspurs Champions League match, which will also be shown on October 18.
Those who aren’t football fans still have a way of enjoy 4K UHD content on the new Sky+ Pro box – as a certain number of films will be available to watch on Sky’s On Demand service. Films include Hotel Translyvania 2, The Walk, Salt and Evil Dead.
