AliceSanus’ newly launched Swiveling TV Base has been optimised for integration with Sonos’ new Playbase ‘home theatre’ speaker, designed to sit under any TV that isn’t wall mounted.
Designed for almost any TV that isn’t wall mounted, Playbase is a thin speaker designed to sit discreetly under a TV. Essentially, the Swiveling TV Base is a tabletop base that recreates the look and feel of a mounted TV, providing up to 8”(20.3cm) of TV height adjustability – creating space to fit a Sonos Playbase or Playbar below a TV.
“In partnership with Sonos, we developed a product that would seamlessly integrate the Sonos Playbase with the flat-panel TV, making the TV look like it’s hovering above the Playbase,” says Ben Osborne, senior director, international for Sanus.
The Swiveling TV Base works on all surfaces, providing 40 degrees of swivel left to right, therefore improving viewing angles. The modern matte finish of the product has been designed to complement the look of today’s flat-panel TVs, while the included cable management helps conceal power and HDMI cables.
“When someone installs these two products together they see the TV hovering above the Playbase, and the Swiveling TV Base essentially disappears to allow the TV and the speaker to be the heroes of the AV experience,” adds senior international marketing and product manager, Rick van Bommel.
The Swiveling TV Base fits TVs from 32 to 60” and can support up to 27 kg. Furthermore, its base is well suited for furniture with a shallow depth or width.
The Sanus Swiveling TV Base requires a 20-minute, three-step assembly that can be completed with just a screwdriver.
The Swiveling TV Base is priced at £147.29 and is available for pre-order, with availability set for March 7 from www.sonos.com, although Sanus says the product will be coming to more AV retailers from April 4.
All Sanus mounts, including the Swiveling TV Base, are safety tested, UL Certified and include a 10-year warranty.
