AliceWith the Dolby Atmos receivers (now available from Veritais), customers can upgrade their existing 5.1 systems to Dolby Atmos.
To achieve that Atmos experience in the home, a customer will require a new receiver with Atmos decoding and additional speakers.
However with the Atmos receiver, customers won’t need a new Blu-ray player, different cables or need to invest in different Blu-ray discs.
The Dolby Atmos receiver is backwards compatible. If a customer purchases a Blu-ray film that has Atmos on it and their current set-up isn’t Atmos-compatible, the receiver will simply treat it like any other disc.
However if the customer’s set-up is Atmos-compatible, it will read the additional information, giving the Atmos experience in the home.
