Fred Perry and Pro-Ject Audio Systems have announced an exclusive partnership that teams two pioneering brands to deliver a unique turntable. The Fred Perry x Pro-Ject Record Deck is exclusive to the iconic clothing brand and is an all-new turntable design from the Austrian-based maker.
When conceiving the Fred Perry model, the design team took inspiration from two Pro-Ject decks, the Essential III and the Debut Carbon EVO. The result is a handsomely equipped premium turntable, complete with built-in adjustable phono pre-amp, pre-set aluminium tonearm, pre-installed Ortofon OM 10 cartridge with an elliptical diamond stylus, and speed adjustments of 33 and 45RPM.
Naturally, a Fred Perry turntable must look, as well as sound, exceptional. Perry himself said, ‘I was generally regarded as the best-dressed player of my time,’ and this bespoke turntable can confidently make the same claim. The new model comes in three colourways, based on a trio of classic Fred Perry shirts: Black/Champagne, Maroon/White/Ice, and White/Ice/Navy. The rigorous attention to visuals extends to the acrylic platter mats, which sport the famous Fred Perry Laurel Wreath.
