Gira has shared that after a preliminary round of voting, it has been shortlisted for the finals of this year’s London Construction Awards in two categories:
Architectural Design of the Year – Essoldo House London project:
A new and iconic building in Chelsea, London with space for 11 extraordinary residential units, with a spectacular tower and roof terrace. Behind the scenes, a user-friendly Gira KNX system works in tandem with the Gira X1 mini server and the Gira S1, remote access module to ensure equally smooth and secure networking and control wherever the homeowner is.
Smart Technology of the Year – Gira KNX RF System:
A new KNX system that can now be installed with a wireless network using modern RF technology with Gira KNX RF top units. Customers can then use this to control lighting, blinds, room temperature and scenes. Compatibility with the Gira System 3000 ensures the greatest possible range of functions.
Winners of the London Construction Awards will be announced at the highly anticipated awards gala dinner and ceremony on Friday 23rd September at the Leonardo Royal London Tower Bridge Hotel. Recognising achievements, developments and innovations within London’s booming construction industry, this prestigious awards ceremony celebrates the achievements, developments, and innovation across London’s construction industry.
Shortlisted as a finalist across two categories, Gira is proud to be recognised by this prestigious industry awards once again, having previously won Fire Safety Solution of the Year for its Gira Dual Q smoke alarm device in 2019.
Gira is now proud to offer new design freedom for the modern home with the launch of its KNX RF top units, shortlisted in the ‘Smart Technology of the Year’ category. A wired Smart Home system included right from the start of the design phase is now part of the high standard in new construction projects. Yet, in existing buildings, more and more owners are also looking to install the latest building and control technologies.
However, many are put off by the effort involved in installing the BUS cable. For electricians, this is a time-consuming task: walls must be laboriously prised open and replastered, which means noise and dirt. Gira KNX RF means that with little effort, users can control lights remotely and intelligently, along with blinds, heating, scenes, and more!
Essoldo House has been named a finalist in the ‘Architectural Design of the Year’ and with good reason. Bringing the latest technology to a truly iconic new build property in London, which was designed by Nick Shipp Architects, a user-friendly Gira KNX system works in tandem with the Gira X1 mini server and the Gira S1, remote access module. This ensures equally smooth and secure networking and control wherever the homeowner is, plus switches and socket outlets of the Gira E2 design line in stainless steel match the high-quality elegance of this special building. All Gira products were installed by specialist system integrator Marquee Home Limited, part of the Gira System Integrator Partner Program.
The London Construction Awards is co-hosted with the leading exhibition, London Build, is free to enter and impartially judged by a panel of industry experts.
Jessica-Lee van der Walt, Sales and Marketing Manager of Gira UK says “We are extremely proud to be honoured amongst our peers as a finalist at this year’s London Construction Awards. Our commitment for quality design and endurance, as well as our strong market desire to help property developers [and owners] protect and secure their buildings is second to none, so to be recognised by the industry is another huge accomplishment for our brand in the UK.
“As more people discover the virtues of intelligent building technology, we find ourselves in the right position to guide, optimise, support and nurture the ever-evolving smart home sector and respectively, new build and retrofit design and construction.”
