Prove your humanity

Acting as the first preview of the up-coming CEDIA/CTA Immersive Video System Design standard, a special training event will be held at Sony UK HQ, over three days (July 9-11, 2024). Attendees completing the three-day course – charged at US$1800 – will obtain Certificate of ISF Level III Certification, listing on ISF Dealers/Calibrators website, 12 AVIXA CTS or CTS-I credits and 16 CEDIA CEU credits.

The course will be led by industry veteran and innovator Joel Silver – CEO, Lead Developer and Founder of the Imaging Science Foundation, Inc., (ISF) which was incorporated in 1994 to introduce video image quality calibration services into consumer electronics. Joel volunteers as the chair of the CEA and CEDIA committee on Home Theatre Video recommended practices. He also is the producer of the HDTV Calibration Wizard DVD.

In the AV industry, Joel has presented at CES, American Association of Medical Instrumentation, Barco BE, CEDIA Australia, EHExpo, INFOCOMM, ISE Brussels, ISE Singapore, NESDA, NSCA and Microsoft’s WINHEC. He has also received both top five and top ten CEDIA instructor awards and is a CE PRO top-ten-for-ten-years most influential industry leader.

Joel consults for AMD, the BBC, Barco, BenQ, Bose, CNN, Datacolor, Dolby, DVDO, DNP, Epson, Harman, Hitachi, InFocus, Integra, Intel, LG, JVC, Linn, Lissau A/S, Microsoft, Minolta, Mitsubishi, Monster Cable, NEC, NVIDIA, Panasonic, Pioneer, Pixelworks, Runco, Screen Research, Sencore, Stewart Filmscreen, Texas Instruments, Toshiba, Yamaha, Xrite and numerous other clients.

One of the industry’s most knowledgeable experts on video, Joel’s experience makes attending all the more compelling.

The ISF instructors chairing the committee creating this standard, will provide attendees with an advance preview of the specifications for the four Performance Levels in the upcoming CEDIA/CTA ‘Immersive Video Design Recommended Practice’ standard. This document has been created to be a milestone in the residential video industry, and attendees will have an insider’s view of standards that will shape the industry in the coming years. The companion to the audio focused RP22 standard, this new standard gives the same assistance and guidance to creating world-class home cinema and media room projects for the visual side of the equation.

The ISF has trained over 7000 AV professionals, and the organisation’s website hosts companies worldwide offering installations and calibrations. The ISF assists those striving to deliver excellent quality video from post-production facility calibrations to residential HDR displays. The ISF says HDR display technology Standards must be fully understood and deployed to deliver the best picture quality to clients. HDR is just one reason why ISF Level III certification has become so critical, says the organisation.

By attending ISF Level III, course graduates will have the knowledge to teach customers about Immersive Video System Design and be able to confidently explain why investing in better models of TVs or projectors is logical. This will all contribute to more margin and better sales, ultimately increasing the bottom line.
