Onkyo has announced that it will be releasing firmware updates throughout the month of August to add Deezer support to a large number of its AV receivers and networked audio devices.
Deezer is one of the most popular subscription-based, streaming music services, with access to a library of more than 53 million songs and is proving popular with makers at the moment with Systemline 7 announcing its compatibility recently as well.
On top of the existing tiers of Deezer’s service, the upcoming firmware updates will also enable access to a brand new option… Deezer HiFi. Subscribing to this means it is possible for owners to enjoy CD quality, lossless (16bit / 44.1kHz) FLAC music files, with Deezer currently providing some 36 million tracks to choose from.
Owners can also use the ‘Flow’ facility to listen to a personalised soundtrack. This creates a bespoke soundtrack, based on the user’s listening tastes. Flow doesn’t just include known favourites, but also introduces selected new songs, helping the listener to discover exciting new artists. And the more that Flow is used, the better it becomes at understanding the listener’s taste.
