Bang & Olufsen and M Restaurants

Bang & Olufsen is delighted to announce a new partnership with award-winning culinary group, M Restaurants, with the brand’s third restaurant set to launch in Canary Wharf on 8th September 2022, joining established restaurants in Threadneedle Street and Victoria Street.

Extending over the ground and first floors of the 220m high Newfoundland, M Canary Wharf will showcase Bang & Olufsen audio and visual technology throughout the glossy waterside venue, which takes inspiration from the vintage yachts found on the French Riviera.

Inside the restaurant are 10 separate destination zones of audio that can play simultaneously or separately, comprising two Beoplay A9 speakers, three Beosound Shape modular speaker systems, two pairs of Beolab 18 wall-mounted speakers, one pair of Beolab 50 active loudspeakers, and two Beovision Eclipse 4K OLED televisions. Completing the line-up are 24 Celestial in-ceiling speakers, arranged in groups of two throughout the venue so diners can enjoy Bang & Olufsen’s signature sound for the entire duration of their visit.

The custom install was designed by MADE Worldwide to be robust, easy to use, and efficient, with the ability to run day-to-day with minimum human interaction. MADE Worldwide also created a custom interface for M Canary Wharf, which is programmed into a tablet and can be used to control the audio throughout the entire venue remotely.

The 10,000sq. ft René Decker-designed venue is encased in 360-degree floor-to-ceiling glass and is filled with teak and leather accents. Inside is a destination bar serving sensory cocktails, a 180-cover restaurant, two private dining rooms, a wine tasting room, the Taste of La Petite M café, and a private members lounge. Once opened, M Canary Wharf will also host a weekly Saint-Tropez Beach Brunch with DJs, a unique sensory menu that matches flavour and sound, and Sunday movie screenings, all in collaboration with Bang & Olufsen.

The Beovision Eclipse 4K OLED television

Founded by CEO Martin Williams and Culinary Director Mike Reid in 2014, M already boasts two celebrated international grill restaurants. The venues are known for attracting top business leaders and politicians, as well as sports personalities and music and film stars. For Canary Wharf, Reid has created a menu that showcases M signature dishes and premium beef, while also transporting diners to Provence – creating a real feast for the senses in tandem with Bang & Olufsen’s custom install.
