Artcoustic Launches Spitfire Cloud and SL Architect 4-2 MKII

Artcoustic has expanded its architectural loudspeaker portfolio with the launch of two new high-performance in-ceiling models designed for immersive home cinema and premium architectural audio installations, the Spitfire Cloud and SL Architect 4-2 MKII.

Sharing the same acoustic platform, the Artcoustic Spitfire Cloud and SL Architect 4-2 MKII have been engineered to deliver controlled directivity, high sensitivity and an ultra-shallow installation depth, addressing growing demand for high-performance in-ceiling loudspeakers across residential and commercial projects.

While both products share the same core engineering, each has been optimised for a specific application.

The Spitfire Cloud has been developed specifically for immersive audio formats including Dolby Atmos, DTS and Auro-3D. Rather than using a conventional coaxial ceiling loudspeaker design, it employs a directional driver array featuring four 3in long-throw low-frequency drivers and twin Artcoustic ring-radiator high-frequency units mounted on an angled acoustic baffle.

The resulting 90° × 45° coverage pattern directs acoustic energy towards the listening position, improving object localisation, dialogue intelligibility and overall spatial precision while reducing unwanted ceiling reflections.

Delivering 98dB sensitivity, 120W power handling and peak output of up to 120dB SPL, the Spitfire Cloud is designed to provide reference-level overhead performance from an installation depth of just 83mm. The shallow profile also makes it well suited to retrofit projects and low-void ceiling constructions where conventional immersive audio loudspeakers can be difficult to accommodate.

Artcoustic is also introducing the SL Architect 4-2 MKII, aimed at high-end residential and commercial audio applications including living spaces, TV systems, hospitality venues, retail environments, boardrooms and distributed audio installations.

Sharing the same driver configuration and controlled dispersion characteristics, the SL Architect 4-2 MKII delivers consistent tonal balance, clear speech intelligibility and wide, even coverage while maintaining the discreet appearance expected of premium architectural loudspeakers.

Both models have been designed to integrate seamlessly with the wider Artcoustic ecosystem, providing consistent voicing across screen, surround, overhead and architectural channels.

Patricia Ljungberg, CEO and Co-Founder of Artcoustic, says, “The new models reflect our continued focus on solving real installation challenges without compromising acoustic performance. Whether designing a reference-level private cinema or specifying discreet architectural audio throughout a luxury residence or commercial environment, installers can now benefit from the same controlled directivity, high output capability and simplified installation in a purpose-built in-ceiling solution.”

The Spitfire Cloud is supplied in black, with grilles available in black, white, custom RAL/NCS colours or digital print. The SL Architect 4-2 MKII is available in white, black, SL Satin and custom RAL/NCS finishes, with grilles also offered in custom RAL/NCS colours or digital print.

The introduction of the two new models further expands Artcoustic’s range of performance-focused architectural loudspeakers, giving installers greater flexibility across immersive cinema, residential and commercial applications while maintaining the company’s emphasis on high-performance audio, discreet aesthetics and straightforward installation.
