PMC donates speakers for Together for Cinema room at Bradford Royal Infirmary

PMC has donated models from its Ci series to the latest project by the custom installation industry’s Community Interest Company, Together for Cinema. The project involved transforming a space within Bradford Royal Infirmary’s Children and Young People’s Unit into a cinema room for use by patients at the hospital.

“We are delighted to be able to assist with this hugely important installation at the Bradford Royal Infirmary by donating our Ci90 speakers for use in the new children and young people’s cinema,” says Alister Smith, UK Sales Manager. “It will bring joy and a relief from the rigours of hospital stays for many children over the coming years. It is further testament to the amazing work that Ian Morrish and the team at Together for Cinema undertake, to help some of the most deserving kids while they endure extended hospital stays.”

The installation was undertaken by well-known installers Clever Association from Knaresborough, North Yorkshire. The choice of PMC Ci speakers was made as a result of discussions with PMC’s business development manager, Craig Sowerby, about the most suitable models to use. The installation is based around a 100in TV, with an RTI controlled home cinema system, lighting and blinds.

Helping make the space child-friendly, welcoming and comfortable were two other companies, Tigerplay, soft-play design specialists, and Creative Joinery and Design, who transformed an old physio room into a safe and themed environment that will be enjoyed for years to come as a cinema, gaming and karaoke room.

Speaking on behalf of Together for Cinema, Ian Morrish, founder and MD says, “The generosity of our industry never ceases to amaze me, and all involved with this installation are so grateful to PMC for donating the excellent PMC Ci90 speaker system. Having just attended the opening I was delighted with the sound quality, as were the families and staff in the Children’s Ward. A huge heartfelt thank you to PMC for their generosity and for helping create a special room that will help so many children and their families at a very challenging time.”

The new Bradford Royal Infirmary Children and Young People’s Cinema was opened on 27th November.
