Prove your humanity

NETGEAR has announced the availability of the Orbi 960 series as a standalone router, empowering flats, penthouses, and smaller homes with WiFi 6E connectivity. This new offering aims to provide maximum throughput and high-performance wireless internet access for spaces that do not require extensive coverage.

Designed to cater to homes of up to 2,500ft², the Orbi WiFi 6E standalone router (RBRE960) offers wall-to-wall coverage. NETGEAR says that it provides lightning-fast internet speeds and a stable connection, meeting the demands of today’s bandwidth-hungry applications and devices. Additionally, the system can be expanded for larger spaces or denser coverage of WiFi 6E connections by adding extra satellites as an optional accessory. The 6GHz WiFi band adds more than double the bandwidth of 5GHz, resolving issues with interference and congestion in the 5GHz WiFi band, and enables a fast multi-Gigabit WiFi speed for connected WiFi 6E devices.

The Orbi 960 series was the industry’s first quad-band WiFi 6E router, ensuring unparalleled speed and reliability. With an impressive 16 WiFi streams, the highest specification available, it operates across all three bands – 2.4, 5, and 6GHz. This advanced technology guarantees a seamless and robust wireless experience for users, even in bandwidth-intensive applications. The WiFi 6E ecosystem is poised for rapid growth. Many devices already support WiFi 6E from brands including Samsung, Apple, Dell and Lenovo, with more to come. For laptops and PCs not yet equipped, NETGEAR provides a solution with the WiFi 6E USB 3.0 adapter, Nighthawk A8000.

NETGEAR states that the Orbi 960 series is an excellent choice for first homeowners or individuals living in smaller properties who anticipate upsizing in the future. By investing in the standalone router now, users can enjoy high-performance WiFi 6E connectivity while having the flexibility to purchase additional satellites later when their homes expand in size. This scalable approach ensures a future-proof networking solution that grows with the users’ needs.
