With the two models, HOLIST S and HOLIST M, Teufel now offers two sound-heavy smart speakers with Alexa integration.
Simply smart sound
The new smart speakers are designed to bring first-class sound to any room, while offering the almost unlimited possibilities of the Amazon Alexa cloud-based voice assistance. Ask Alexa to set a timer, convert units, explain things, retrieve messages, control smart home devices, play games, tell a joke or much, much more. For the best entertainment, you have direct access to the popular streaming services Amazon Music and Spotify. The free HOLIST app for Android and iOS also allows music to be played on a HOLIST speaker via Napster, Tidal and TuneIn.
Enjoy 360-degree Teufel sound
Three passive bass membranes, an active woofer and a full-range loudspeaker radiating upwards against a reflector provide the powerful sound typical of Teufel in the HOLIST S. The reflector radiates the sound horizontally in all directions, creating the same sound impression throughout the room. The considerably larger HOLIST M is similar in design, but as a three-way system with tweeter, midrange and bass driver.
In addition, the HOLIST M has a full range driver that is directed forward. Thanks to this additional driver, the speaker offers, in addition to 360° sound, the sound modes ‘Wide’ and ‘Direct’ for listeners sitting directly in front of the unit. ‘Wide’ produces a very spatial sound and ‘Direct’ is particularly suitable for spoken content such as audio books and games, podcasts or news. The mode is set directly on the speaker using a switch on the base of the device.
Operate via voice, app and control buttons
Both HOLIST models have playback control buttons (track skip forward/back, play/pause, volume) on the top of the unit. In addition, there are sensor keys for muting the microphones and for switching to the Bluetooth and AUX input.
The free HOLIST app for iOS and Android includes browsers for the services TuneIn, Tidal and Napster and allows the direct stream of music stored locally on the smartphone or tablet. In addition, the app acts as a remote control and controls volume and source selection independently of the current playback. The fastest way to control playback is, of course, by voice command.
