Smarter has revealed the price of its WiFi coffee machine, with the device set to go on sale in May for £149.99.
The WiFi connected coffee machine joins the company’s other venture, the iKettle, in transforming the kitchen with smart devices, meaning you don’t even have to be at home to make a cup of coffee.
Using the free iOS or Android App, users can set the coffee machine to remind them when it needs refilling with water, or to simply make a hot beverage when walking through the door, thanks to its ‘welcome home’ mode.
Smarter has even integrated IFTTT functionality which can trigger the coffee machine when certain variables are met, for instance if your fitness tracker notices that you’re having a bad night’s sleep, then the coffee machine will adjust accordingly, so when you wake up there will be stronger coffee in the morning.
Unlike some coffee machines on the market though, like the Tassimo and Nespresso, Smarter’s machine snubs pods in favour of traditional bean coffee.
While the company claims this machine is the world’s first bean to cup coffee machine, there are in fact many others on the market, although this is the first to come with WiFi connectivity.
Firebox will be the first retailer to stock the Smarter WiFi coffee machine in May, although it will be joined by John Lewis, Currys, Apple, Maplin and Amazon in June.
