Leviton has announced Intercom support for its OmniTouch 7 touchscreen, which will receive the new functionality via a free firmware update.
The firmware update allows users to use the touchscreens to make any kind of announcement or one-way call, making way for such scenarios such as announcing dinner time to the user’s family, or by interacting with those at the front door.
When a supported door station is rung, a specific group of touchscreens will preview the camera feed from that door station. Once one touchscreen is answered, the rest will stop ringing.
Making use of the on-screen ‘activate’ button will then allow users to unlock a gate or door for the guest, using nothing but the Leviton OmniTouch 7, as long as a supported door station is connected to the network.
