Habitech, distributor to residential and commercial CI, has announced the introduction of a brace of new DrayTek VigorSwitch switches to UK integrators.
Part of DrayTek’s Layer 2+ line, the new VigorSwitch P2100 and G2100 are compact, high performance managed Ethernet switches, combining 10-port Gigabit capabilities with advanced network management features. Designed for 1U rack mounting and silent fan-less operation in SOHO environments, each offers eight RJ-45 Gigabit Ethernet ports and two SFP ports, the P2100 PoE+ variant sharing a generous budget of 140W from its LAN ports with wireless APs, IP cameras etc.
Advanced features available from the new models include Access Control, which manages specified traffic types moving between ports (just like a firewall); IP Conflict Resolution, which blocks a device if it attempts to use an IP address that’s already in operation and ONVIF IP Camera Management, which allows for the easy discovery, management and troubleshooting of connected ONVIF IP cameras and NVR systems.
Habitech says that while both DrayTek VigorSwitch products work well in standalone mode they are equipped for centralised management and can be provisioned and monitored by one of DrayTek’s central management platforms. These include the VigorACS cloud management platform, VigorConnect on-site management and DrayTek’s router-based switch management. These platforms reduce the setup time required for a complex network and allow the integrator to configure an entire DrayTek network remotely.
