Shoal Group has announced its relocation to new premises at Butterfield Business Park in Luton, Bedfordshire. The move, which will take place over the festive shut down, will bring together two of Shoal Group’s brands, Cablecraft and FS Cables.

The new facility has been purpose-built to accommodate their current offices, warehousing, operations and a combined team of 120+ employees. Cablecraft and FS Cables will continue to trade under their respective brands.

Bringing Cablecraft and FS Cables under one roof allows Shoal Group to offer a consolidated product and service offering, along with combined knowledge and expertise; whilst the upgraded facility provides a vast improvement to its operational capability. A new telephone number will be issued for FS Cables in the coming months, whilst Cablecraft’s number will remain the same.

“Shoal Group has grown significantly over the last three years, which is testament to the hard work and efforts of all colleagues,” says Mark Taylor, Managing Director at Shoal Group.

“This move will not only provide a platform to support our next phase growth but also provide an inspiring workspace for our teams. I am excited for our future and the benefits from this move we can pass on to our valued customers, further service level enhancements through the introduction of warehouse automation, planned later cut off times, consolidated shipments (cables and accessories) and significant improvements in our environmental impact (solar and renewable power, high energy rated building, further reductions of waste to landfill and a move to all electric company vehicles.”

Shoal Group is committed to providing its customers with sustainable end-to-end solutions, and the move to Butterfield Business Park provides several advantages as well as significant environmental impact improvements. The 85,000sqft. facility will allow Shoal Group to expand its operations and provide space for its ambitious growth strategy.

The strategic relocation to Luton was chosen with its customers and suppliers in mind, with convenient access benefits including being three miles from Luton airport and train station, five miles from the M1, 36 miles from London as well as being located close to local amenities including nearby hotels.

The warehouse will be equipped with the latest automated logistics technology, ensuring efficient inventory management, order fulfilment and seamless distribution. This allows Shoal Group to maintain its commitment to timely and accurate deliveries.

The new facility incorporates sustainable design features including energy efficient car and forklift charging points, low energy lighting, solar panels – which are combined with a smart building design that reduces overall energy usage – as well as accommodating multiple waste reduction measures.

The new office space is designed with employee comfort and collaboration in mind. It features cutting-edge technology, ergonomic workstations and collaborative meeting areas to foster creativity and innovation among Shoal Group’s talented workforce.

All other communication channels including email addresses, website and social channels will remain unchanged for each brand ensuring a smooth transition for customers, suppliers and stakeholders.
