Sound Design Distribution (SDD) introduces the Mola Mola Ossetra mono power amplifier to UK audiophiles, marking a significant evolution of the brand’s proprietary Trajectum class D amplifier technology.
The Ossetra is a fully bridged mono power amplifier delivering 350W into 8Ω, housed in Mola Mola’s distinctive wave-shaped half-width chassis. Designed to combine high output power with exceptionally low noise, the amplifier represents a major step forward in both performance and flexibility within the Trajectum platform, says the company.
Fully balanced from input to output, the Ossetra features a newly engineered power supply alongside a new discrete class A input stage and all-new discrete class A gain stages. According to Mola Mola, the uprated power supply enables a substantial reduction in noise while improving both dynamic and continuous output power. Increased current capability within the fully bridged output stage allows the amplifier to drive virtually any loudspeaker load, says the company.
At the front end, the new discrete class A, DC-coupled input stage is derived from the design used in the manufacturer’s Makua preamplifier. This stage provides a high input impedance for partnering sources or preamplifiers, adds gain and prevents DC or unwanted noise from entering the power stage, says the company. Shunt regulators dynamically draw current from the power supply as required across the full audio band, delivering high levels of noise rejection under varying load conditions.

The maker states that the Ossetra achieves input stage distortion of approximately -150dB, equating to around 0.000003 percent. This supports the performance of the new discrete class A gain stages, which generate the gain required for the amplifier’s high-feedback design while further reducing noise and distortion, says the company. With a bandwidth exceeding 100kHz, the amplifier maintains a ruler-flat frequency response throughout the audible range.
In terms of connectivity, the Ossetra offers both balanced and unbalanced inputs, selectable via a rear-panel switch. Two pairs of Furutech binding posts are biwired directly to the amplifier PCB using Kubala-Sosna cable, with a 3.5mm trigger input provided for system integration.
Power output is rated at 350W into 8Ω, rising to 700W into 4Ω and 900W into 2Ω. Gain is switchable between 22dB and 28dB, while the unweighted signal-to-noise ratio is specified at 130dB. Total harmonic and intermodulation distortion are quoted at below 0.003 percent across all frequencies and power levels, says the company.
The Ossetra measures 200mm wide, 110mm high and 355mm deep including speaker terminals, with a weight of 7kg.
The Ossetra mono power amplifier is available in the UK from January 2026 with a typical retail price of £7,999 including VAT.
