Lewis CaliburnVelodyne Acoustics is hosting an exclusive showcase of the brand-new SPL-X Series at ISE 2025, designed for powerful and precise bass performance.
The SPL-X series builds on the DSP technology found in Velodyne’s MiniVee X and SC1500 models. Available in 10″, 12″, 15″, and 18″ sizes, these subwoofers feature a sleek curved cabinet design inspired by the premium Digital Drive Plus series.
With a 38mm thick cabinet construction, internal bracing and powerful magnet systems, these subwoofers are optimised to deliver superior acoustic performance. The amplifier modules range from 1,000 watts RMS (SPL-X 10) to 1,800 watts RMS (SPL-X 18), reportedly ensuring deep, dynamic bass.
Equipped with newly designed carbon fiber drivers, four layer voice coils, double centering spiders, and rear-ventilated motor units, the SPL-X series achieves precision and impact at all volume levels, claims the manufacturer.
The SPL-X models include balanced and unbalanced inputs/outputs, along with solid speaker terminals. The Velodyne Acoustics AutoEQ App provides precise tuning and automatic calibration via the included microphone, optimising the subwoofer’s performance for any room setup.
Velodyne Acoustics will also introduce several innovations at the show:
• SC1500 DSP-controlled subwoofer amplifier – A 1,500-watt powerhouse with 2-ohm stability, app control and auto-calibration for passive subwoofers.
• SC-IW600X & SC-IWDVR in-wall subwoofers – Sleek, discreet high performance models designed for seamless integration.
• MiniVee X Limited Editions – Now available in high-gloss white and an exclusive transparent acrylic version showcasing the internal engineering.
