Pro-Ject Audio Systems’ next generation of T1 turntables are now ready to ship in the UK and Ireland – available in three different variants.
The original T1 turntable was added to the Pro-Ject range in mid-2019, and since that time has become a firm favourite with music lovers around the world thanks to its combination of sound, stylish looks and convenience.
Today, The T1 EVO (£359.00 GBP / $449.00 USD SRP), T1 EVO Phono (£399.00 GBP / $499.00 USD SRP) and T1 EVO BT (£479.00 GBP / $599.00 USD SRP) are direct replacements for the previous variants, and are once again each available in Black, Walnut and White vinyl finishes.
The T1 EVO aims to deliver true high-fidelity sound on a limited budget. Boasting premium materials, stylish aesthetics and a “rich, lively” sound, the extensive development process that went into its creation has ensured that there has been no compromise in the sound performance, claims the manufacturer.
Made to Perform
The T1 EVO is based around its CNC-machined plinth, featuring no plastic parts and carefully manufactured to ensure there are no hollow spaces inside, avoiding unwanted vibrations within the finished product. Even the power switch is moved to the side of the chassis to allow for a clean, elegant appearance.
Mounted inside the plinth is a precision belt drive system with automatic speed control for 33 and 45rpm, attached to a large sub-platter, which itself is engineered to the finest tolerances for stable mounting into the stainless-steel axle/brass-bushing main bearing. The sub-platter drives the heavy, zero-resonance glass platter with stability, ensuring an ideal playback surface for vinyl records.
The tonearm on the T1 EVO boasts a one-piece aluminium 8.6” tube and an improved gimble bearing assembly with low-friction components for total accuracy in use. Supplied with an Ortofon OM 10 cartridge with elliptical diamond stylus for great sound, the tonearm is also pre-set for downforce and anti-skate settings, so there’s no need for any complicated set-up.
Easy to Use
The T1 EVO is designed to be simple to set-up and use, regardless of the variant selected.
The standard T1 EVO is supplied with fixed RCA cables, ready to connect to the phono stage of choice, whether that’s an external device or one that’s built-in to an amplifier or active speaker.
The T1 EVO Phono features a built-in phono stage, which means users can connect it directly to any LINE or AUX input on an amplifier or speaker. The T1 EVO BT boasts a phono stage that also features a wireless Bluetooth output, for streaming to any compatible Bluetooth speaker or amplifier.
With both the T1 EVO Phono and T1 BT, the phono stage is also by-passable, so users can still connect the turntable to an external phono stage as their system evolves and upgrades.
The T1 EVO is made in Europe, and comes supplied with all necessary accessories for set-up, and includes a removable acrylic dust cover in the box.
The T1 EVO, T1 EVO Phono and T1 EVO BT (Available in the UK via Henley Audio) are shipping to UK dealers now, and replace the now-discontinued original models.
