As part of its global 80th Anniversary celebration, JBL has released the L100 Classic 80, a limited edition of its L100 loudspeaker.

First introduced in the ‘70s, the original JBL L100 became one of the most recognisable loudspeakers in JBL history, synonymous with the sound of a generation and the rise of high-performance home audio. The JBL L100 Classic 80 pays tribute to that legacy while delivering the acoustics, materials and build quality expected from JBL today.

“The JBL L100 is more than a loudspeaker. It’s a symbol of JBL’s role in shaping how people experience music at home,” says Jim Garrett, Senior Director, Product Strategy and Planning, HARMAN Luxury Audio. “The JBL L100 Classic 80 honours that legacy while reflecting the engineering standards and listening expectations of today. It’s a celebration of where we’ve been and how far we’ve come.”

Finished in a natural oak wood veneer and paired with a vintage-inspired brown Quadrex foam grille accented by a gold-and-black JBL logo, the JBL L100 Classic 80 is as visually striking as it is acoustically capable.

The design is further distinguished by a black cone 12in woofer, selected specifically to complement the warm oak finish and brown grille, along with a black satin wood baffle frame and anniversary edition badging on both the front and rear.

The JBL L100 Classic 80 is a 12in, three-way bookshelf loudspeaker engineered for powerful, dynamic stereo playback. The system features a cast-frame 12in pure pulp cone woofer in a front-firing bass-reflex design, a 5.25in polymer-coated pure pulp cone midrange driver, and a 1in titanium dome tweeter mated to JBL’s acoustic lens waveguide.

Carefully tuned crossover points and front-panel mid- and high-frequency level attenuators allow listeners to fine-tune the speaker’s presentation to their room and personal preferences.

Beyond its performance and design, the JBL L100 Classic 80 is a true collector’s edition created to commemorate JBL’s 80-year legacy. Production is limited to just 800 matched pairs worldwide, each identified by an individually numbered commemorative plaque bearing the signature of principal system engineer Chris Hagen.

Every pair ships as a complete system, including JS-150 speaker stands, and is delivered inside a specially crafted wooden crate.

Designed for dedicated listening rooms and refined living spaces alike, the JBL L100 Classic 80 offers amplifier-friendly performance with a 4-ohm impedance and dual sets of gold-plated binding posts that support bi-wire and bi-amp configurations.

The JBL L100 Classic 80 will be available in limited quantities beginning in February 2026 and retails at $7,499 per pair.
