Ideon Audio has announced the world premiere of its new flagship digital-to-analogue converter, the Axiom DAC, which will be unveiled on 2 April at Park Avenue Audio in New York in collaboration with its US distributor, 2WA Group.
The launch event will be led by Ideon Audio CEO George Ligerakis and Chief Designer and Vice President Vasilis Tounas, who will present the design philosophy and engineering behind what the company describes as its most ambitious project to date. Following its New York debut, the Axiom DAC will also be demonstrated at AXPONA (Audio Expo North America) in Chicago from 10-12 April.
The Axiom DAC has been developed as a reference-level digital playback system, with Ideon Audio focusing on musical realism rather than specification-led design. The company states that the product has been engineered to deliver organic flow, tonal authenticity, spatial coherence and emotional engagement, with the aim of allowing the system to “disappear” within the listening chain.
At the core of the Axiom DAC is a 16-channel hybrid parallel architecture operating in a fully differential configuration. This is supported by proprietary firmware developed in-house, designed to deliver high linearity, low noise and distortion, and extended dynamic range. The system is also underpinned by a high-capacity power infrastructure, offering more than 2kW of available power through an ultra-low impedance design to enable high current delivery without compression.

Signal integrity is managed through Ideon Audio’s proprietary USBCore and ChronoCore technologies, which handle multi-stage buffering, reclocking and isolation of incoming digital signals. These processes are designed to reduce timing errors and jitter, supported by a dedicated power supply intended to maintain signal stability throughout.
A key element of the system is the Quantum Sync Interface, a dedicated link between the digital processing stage and the DAC conversion engine. This interface uses a precision-engineered cable and reference-grade LEMO connector to transfer a fully stabilised and synchronised signal, ensuring that conversion takes place within a controlled internal timing environment.
Control of the Axiom DAC is provided via Ideon Audio’s newly developed Director application, which offers system management, access to settings and filters, and a platform for integration with future products.
Each Axiom DAC unit is hand-built in Greece, with production described as strictly limited. Ideon Audio states that the product reflects its ongoing focus on craftsmanship, proprietary technology and high-performance digital audio design.
